Deputy Volta Regional Director of Health (in charge of Public Health) Dr. Senanu Kwasi Dzokoto, has advised that citizens still abide by the safety protocols put in place against COVID-19 and to remain resolute in the fight against the pandemic.
He described the fight against the pandemic so far as successful, but asked people to tread with caution as there’s probability of reoccurrence .
“We are doing so well in the fight against COVID-19 but let’s not be complacent, else we might have this coming back as it is happening in other countries,” he said.
Dr. Dzokoto disclosed this to Edudzi Randy Ahadzi on the Global Morning Show Wednesday 7 October 2020. According to him, per the current breakdown of cases in the region, Ho Municipality is the hardest hit, with Akatsi North being the least.
“Ho municipal can be described as the epicenter in the volta region with Akatsi North district as the least as they haven’t recorded a single case“. He gave the current figures as follow:
Recorded cases – 675
Recoveries – 658
Deaths – 12
Active cases – 2.
The Deputy Regional Health Director also touched on the upcoming phase two of the Polio vaccination exercise slated for October 8 to October 11 2020; hinting that full preparations have been made by duty bearers. He admonished parents to fully comply with all directives and protocols and other stakeholders to help make the campaign a success.
