Former transport minister, Mrs Dzifa Aku Attivor has been appointed to chair the transport committee of the Volta Development Forum. This was done in a short ceremonies held on Wednesday 6 January 2020 at the Volta regional residency. Volta Development Forum is a group instituted to spearhead the development of the region.
The former transport minister’s appointment forms part of the group’s bid to strategically position itself to be the leading outfit in bringing great developments in all sectors of the economy to the Volta region
Mrs. Attivor also will serve as the 2nd vice president of the group .
The president of the group, Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson assured indigenes of the region of their support and promised that he will ensure everyone benefits from all plans of VFD. Dr Kludjeson spoke on the main points of the group, highlighting on Tourism
“we have several tourists sites in the region and we will tap into all these places and develop them to bring some wealth and development to these areas“,
He also touched on the big project of instituting a 1b dollar fund in 5 years to help attain all their set goals .
He assured the security agencies in the region of the group’s immense support in discharging their duties with ease. “We will help the security agencies in the region, we will empower with the necessary tools they need to carry out their duties”
Mamaga Tryrawa IV Paramount Queen mother of Have Traditional area, admonished the leadership of the group to inculcate the spirit of hard-work and ensure that all their plans are delivered.
“I am encouraging all of you to work hard and ensure that all the targets are met”
Delivering the keynote address, the regional minister Dr Archibald Yao Letsa said it will be best for the group and other well meaning indigenes to drop their political colorations and join help in developing the region . The Regional minister also mentioned that it’s a great timing since the launching of the Afcfta in the country and asked that the group takes advantage and Chase their goals .
He applauded the group and encouraged them to put all their resources to bear and ensure all goals are achieved … He also advised the group not to despise humble beginnings .
