The E.P College of Education in Amedzofe formally started training teachers in the year 1946, the institution had offered Certificates in the categories of A, B and Diploma before in recent times in accordance of the reforms and changes made, offering degree certificates.
In a well attended and colorful ceremony on the 30th April, 2022 the collage held a durbar as part of its 75th anniversary celebration under the theme ‘Restoring the past glory :repositioning AMECO as a partner in quality teacher education in the 21st Century’ The ceremony had in attendance the Special advisor to the President, Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo, he was representing the Special Guest of Honor, the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo,, also present was the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Yaw A. Letsa, MP for Ho-west Hon Emmanuel K. Bedzra,, the district chief executive, other politics to AL heads, the traditional heads including Togbe Osie – adzatekpod XII , the VC of the University of Ghana, director General of Ghana tertiary education commission, the Regional Police commander, staff, alumni students, other principals and many other stakeholders
The Principal Dr. Dickson Tsey in his welcome address recounted the efforts of the past leaders of the College and the role played by government and other stakeholders in supporting the school, he mentioned projects completed by the school through its internally generated funds and also made the challenges confronting the school known to the gathering.
These challenges include, hotels facilities, accommodation for tutors, assembly hall, lecture halls among others.
He appealed to government to complete a GETFUND project started in 2010 which has been left at its foundation level till date.
He also echoed the success of the collage in making French and elective course and also hinted plans of including music in their curriculum.

In his speech congratulated the collage and affirmed the support of his outfit to ensuring that all collages of education attain the highest standards.
Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the, VC for the university of Ghana which is the mentoring university to the collage counted efforts made by her institution in ensuring the use of technology the facilitation of promotions among other activities aimed at helping the college attain full functioning as a tertiary institution.
Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo, Special advisor to the president in his address, mentioned that government is committed to improving the standard of education a cross all sectors, he added that the GETFUND project left at its foundation stage will see work starting soon, the road network leading to the school will begin as well since the engineer has completed preliminary checks.
Mr. Yaw Osarfo Marfo added that in two weeks the collage will recurve a 65 seater bus to aid student transportation. He concluded by thanking the school VH alumni.
