Indian High Commissioner Pays A Working Visit To The Volta Region

The Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Sugandh Rajaram, has revealed that his country is ready to assist Ghana in ita drive for aggressive rural developing. In an interview on the Global Morning Show Thursday 24th February 2021 with host, Edudzi Randy Ahadzi, H.E Rajaram highlighted the successes being chalked in rural areas by helping promote technology, energy and agriculture.


“I can say and assure you of our achievements so far and also our readiness in lending our support in helping developing the rural folks in Agro-business,tech and energy supply,” he said.

According to him both countries have had very healthy cultural and political relations dating back to the days of colonialism, adding that the Volta region has great potentials in Agriculture and that his government will lend its support towards attaining greater heights, while calling on the leaders of the region to endeavour to forge a strong sense of unity among the people.

He was excited about the over 16000 Indian businesses operating in Ghana while thousands of Ghanaians are also engaged in the education ,health and ICT sectors in India.

On Ghana’s fight against COVID-19, Mr Rajaram touched on the 600,000 COVID 19 vaccines delivered by India to the country earlier this morning and also hinted of another 50,000 as part of their support to Ghana in the fight against the the pandemic.
