Actress Lydia Forson has described the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s speech at her outdooring ceremony made her feel for the first time that she was not being manipulated.
According to her, hitherto this period, when one listens to politicians, you’re given a clear indication that you’re being manipulated but listening to Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang was soothing and devoid of manipulation.
She indicated that her calm and collectedness was reassuring and touched on every fabric in society adding that it was like she was having a relaxed conversation and will make you want to listen to her.
Lydia Forson said ” I’m trying to listen to Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang without seeing her gender, politics and who’s she’s running with.
I’m impressed. Even if she’s politicking, she’s speaking in a way that makes you want to listen.
She’s not reading (atleast I can’t see that she is) but talking as if she’s sitting on your couch at home and having a conversation with you.
I love that she talks about our ‘Ghanaianess’ calls for compassion, kindness and pride in our country.
Regardless of your political leanings, you can pause and appreciate how nice it is to listen to a politician without ‘feeling’ like you’re being manipulated or played. ( even if you are)
She’s talking to us not at us”
