A table Tennis championship put together by SG Table Tennis Club saw fans and lovers of the discipline thronged the Anlokordzi Taxi rank for an enthralling encounter.
The tournament, dubbed SG Table Tennis Open, the first of its kind in the Volta Regional Capital had young stars under 12 display talent and skills to the amazement of patrons present at the venue and those who watched live via Eze1 TV on Sunday October 17, 2021.
Twelve (12) kids were drawn from various parts of Ho to compete for the ultimate prize. After the group and quarter finals stage, James Agbalekpor defeated Dogbey Noble whiles Prince Agbenyo went on to beat Cyril Kpeklu in the second semifinal to set up a sweet clash against James Agbalekpor in the final. The final saw the 2 determined lads bring on their A-Game to the admiration of the spectators to win the maiden edition of the SG Table Tennis Open with Prince Agbenyo emerging the winner of the tournament.
The Champion and runners up went home with prizes such Mathematical sets, exercise books, table tennis bats and balls all being sponsored by Priscilla SG as a form of motivation to the kids.
Stressing the need for national and world champions, CEO Of SG Tennis Club, Priscilla Selase Gidisu, who is passionate about Tennis said nurturing one youngs at an early age will help produce champions for mother Ghana.
