Political and Research analyst, Dr. Justice Moses Aheto, has commended the NDC for unraveling what he describes as lies being peddled by the NPP as their achievements captured on the government delivery tracker and also in their Manifesto, adding that there could be many more of such non-existent projects out there as is being alleged by the NDC’s National communication Officer, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi.
“There are more ghosts projects; the NDC has done well to bring out the 26 stated but I can tell you for a fact that there is more,” he said.
Speaking in an interview on the Global Morning Show, Wednesday August 26, 2020 Dr. Aheto noted that it is unacceptable for the Vice President and Information Minister to claim that they were misled on some of the projects .
“It’s very much unacceptable to hear the Veep tell us there were data entry errors. The least they could have done was verify the veracity of the data before publishing.”
He advised government to also give credit to the John Mahama-led NDC government for most of the projects and stop crediting themselves. He disagreed with the Information Minister in his bid to blame MMDCEs as having misled the Vice President. For him, all blame in this gaffe should be laid at the doorstep of the President for not doing due diligence .
Responding to the disturbances in Dome Faase, and the alleged attack on the military in the obom area, he said the institution of the military has been brought into public ridicule just to satisfy selfish political interests.
He said it is worrying that suddenly, civilians face off against armed military men and attack them . He called on government to desist from deploying the military to undertake operations that could be easily dealt with by the police as was witnessed in recent times.
