Members of Ghana’s winning CAF U-20 Cup of Nations team have each received a financial package for lifting the African title for the fourth time.
The GhanaU-20 team beat Uganda 2-0 in the final to lift the fourth trophy of the AFCON U-20 championship last Saturday in Mauritania.
The Champions commenced the journey on the good note by thrashing Tanzania 4-0 before a draw with Morocco and a defeat to the Gambia at the group stage.
The brilliant journey continued at the quarter and semi-finals before reaching the finals to lift the fourth trophy.
However, President of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo Addo today at the Jubilee House announced a whopping $10,000 each package to the team, that is $330,000 for the entire team of players and officials just three days after Ghana lifted the African title.
Each playing member will be entitled to $5,000 in cash and an investment facility in the form of an insurance bond worth $5,000 which will mature in 10 years time.
The beneficiaries according to government can access the insurance bonds anytime after it matures.
The management committee members have been rewarded with $5,000 each plus their cars.
