For a bout that has generated such groundswell of excitement and expectation, the one factor that many fans and followers of this event would probably be grateful for is the V1 TV hype.
In a series of carefully-planned publicity events, the Volta region’s premier television station has certainly awoken a sense of patriotism in Ghanaians and especially Voltarians who feel a unique sense of ownership of and affinity to an obviously illustrious son of the land.
At a brief press conference on Wednesday December 5 2018 in Ho, which was preceded by a massive streets procession ahead of the bout, the C.E.O of V1 TV, Mrs. Dzifa Aku Attivor, hinted that the media house had bought into the Isaac Dogboe brand as it’s own contribution to promoting the unique talents of the Volta region.
“What we’re doing today is just to promote one of our own. Our very own son, Isaac “the Royal Storm” Dogboe hails form Anyarko and so we deem it necessary, as part of our vision of showing off the richness of the Volta region to the world, to support him and urge him on to victory for all of Volta and Ghana,” she said.
On his part, the Chairman of the Volta Regional Boxing Federation, Foster Enam Dagadu, commended V1 TV for taking up the initiative and challenge of publicising this event. He called on all Voltarians to buy into the initiative and make the event as well as the media house a household name here in the Volta region and beyond.
In a statement, Public Relations Officer of Volta 1 TV, Paul Mensah Anku, reiterated the need to capitalize on the euphoria and essence of this event to impact young lives and talents in the region.
“For a fact, and of no doubt, this boxing bout, we believe, will seize every insatiable feeling and sate it with the satisfaction that good entertainment will provide. As Isaac fights his way to victory, we in Volta 1 TV believe this will encourage every young person in the Volta region to believe they can achieve their dreams. For this reason, we are poised to bring you this broadcast in the comfort of your homes,” he said.
“V1 TV shares the same joy and objective with Team Dogboe, not excluding the wish of the Togbe Badu Royal House of Anyako to ensure that this compelling and competitive content will be enjoyed by every household in Volta, Ghana and beyond,” he added.
The fight, powered by Media 7 platform, is brought on by V1 TV (which has an exclusive right of broadcast in all of Africa) in partnership with RSTV, Rising Star Africa Promotions and Togbe Badu Royal House of Anyako.
