Volta Region Second Division Campaigners Volta Rangers Football Club have announced West Africa’s leading petroleum haulage outfit JK Horgle Transport and Co as one of their club sponsors. SOCANE a company that produces fresh juice from sugar cane was also unveiled as the club’s beverage partner.
At a well-attended event held at the auditorium of the China European Business School in East Legon in Accra, CEO of Soccertime Africa and co-promoter of the team Mr. Ansah Kofi Edem outlined plans of management to work towards a well-structured and professionally managed football club in Ho with a large supporting base extending from the region to other parts of the country.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director of JK Horgle Transport Mr Joseph Kwaku Horgle spoke about his passion for development in the Volta Region and admonished the playing body to work hard to return top flight football to Ho.
The Director of sports at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate in an address called for policy makers to appreciate the positive role of Sports in the development of our communities. Other speakers include PNDC Volta Regional Secretary for 1983 -85 Dr Austin Asamoah Tutu, Executive Secretary of Ghana-America Chamber of Commerce Mr Simon Madjie and Mr Sola Aklamati the Head of Business Development of Media General.
Also present was the Executive Director of the China European International Business School Prof Mathew Tsamenyi and a businesswoman, community development advocate and a keen football enthusiast Miss Akusika Kpene, Mr Edem Lumor an Entrepreneur with interest in event and sports management and Mr Nurudine Iddrisu CEO of Deen Petroleum among others.
Attendants at the launch left the event with the pledge to work together to ensure more brands are connected to the club.
