VOLTA REGION DIVISION 2 LEAGUE KICKS OFF

The Volta Regional Division 2 league 2016/2017 season finally kicks off on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 across all zones.

The league which has delayed for more than a month after its initial start date, will have a sub middle league format which means three (3) of the zones, (Central, Southern A & B)  have been divided into 2 groups, A & B.

From the Central Zone, Group A, Tsame Young Stars travel to face Homestars at the Kpenoe Park.

MLX Rahma SA and Prestige FC from Abutia will be on stand bye after Sons of Thunder pulled out from the league in the dying minutes.

Pan Africa SA, at the Ho Sports Stadium will welcome Golden Warriors from Kodjobi. Area 51 FC will come up against Diamond Stars at the Ziavi Park as Avedzi United stands bye in group B.

Southern zone A group A will have Narita FC play Kickers FC at the Wudoaba Park; Agbozume United Fc play Afife Red Lions at the Agbozume National Park. Volta Sea will be on stand bye.

Agbozume Weavers makes a journey to face Kopeyia United Fc at the Kopeyia Park in group B. ilead FC will also play guests to All Stars Fc at the Akatsi Stadium. Hands Are Blessed plays a stand bye.

Bebeto Fc plays M.K Heroes at the Sogakope stadium in the Southern zone group A. Alke versus Future Stars will be played at the Dabala Junction Park while Adidome Unity Stars Fc stands bye.

In group B, Red Lions FC will host M.K Warriors Sc at the Bator Park as Lightening Fc also welcomes Roberto Fc at the Mafi Kumasi EP Park.

Darusalem Fc will wait for week 2.

 

In the Northern Zone which has three groups, Royals Fc plays home against Super Rangers at the Gbefi park whereas Eleven Wonders host Mighty Stars at the Konda Park. Victory Stars stands bye for match day 1 in group A.

Aramic FC plays their first match in group B against Nadm SC at the Teteman Park while the Likpe Bala Park witnesses the match between Likpe Fc and Likpe Heroes.

In group C, Talented Soccer will lock horns with Great Warriors at the Pasa Islamic Park and Meaba Fc will be home to Young Desert Warriors at the Tokoroanu JHS Park.

Two (2) top teams from each group in a zone will thus qualify for a sub middle league after which 1 team goes to regional middle league.

All matches are supposed to kick off at 3pm baring any hitches.

A match will be cancelled and 3 points will be given to the away team if the home team fails to pay officiating fees.

The first round of the league is expected to end on 13 August, 2017.
