The New Patriotic Party – NPP in the Volta region has elected Mr. Makafui Kofi Woanya as the party’s Regional Chairman in the just ended regional delegates congress held at the St Francis College of Education at Hohoe on Saturday April 21, 2018.
Mr. Woanya, who is the immediate past Regional Organizer of the party beat off stiff competition from three others, obtaining 296 votes to emerge victorious for the chairmanship position. The fourth aspirant, Ken Anku, a legal practitioner, pulled out of the race pursuant to a last minute interlocutory injunction that was slapped on the elections a day before the congress.
Incumbent Regional Secretary of the party, Joseph Homenya has also been reelected in the same capacity, beating two others, including the party’s Deputy Regional Director of Communications, Enoch Amegbletor to retain his position as the NPP scribe in the Volta region.
The New Patriotic Party Director of ICT in the Volta region, Emmanuel Kosi Bodja has been elected to the position of Regional Organizer of the party, bagging in 301 votes to emerge victorious over his two other contenders, including the incumbent Regional Organizer, Divine Bosson.
A fourth candidate, Solomon Bodza had also pulled out of the race at the last minute, citing personal reasons.
